In the past, the border of the Pyrenees was a road to freedom for Spanish republicans and World War II combatants. Today this border is the place where the stories of refugees, police, solidarity activists and local residents intersect.

With this film, we are invited to follow several protagonists on the border, all of them opposed to its closure, as well as experts who question the situation, as ‘explorers’ of stories that will offer us a certain height of vision, and a reflection on our humanity and the world as it is.

Along these 600 kilometres of border, geographers, inhabitants, exiles, police and railway workers cross paths and avoid each other. All these trajectories trace the mechanics of the border.

Elsa Putelat and Nicolas Dupuis, the directors of the documentary, have been watching this border with their cameras and microphones for years. This new film is a natural extension of their previous films. They are privileged witnesses of what happens with the help of their contacts on the ground.

On this internal border of the European Union where at least thirteen people have died trying to cross in the last three years.
